Unfolder (Day 3)
I had decided to put work aside today to go back to the hole. It’s a holiday anyway so what better time to get over there and check on my blinker. I had a dream that I was there staring down in it for about an hour, except the weather was more temperate, there was a thick cloud cover, no cars, and I had no idea where I was anymore.
I ate breakfast, took a shower, got dressed, and told the girlfriend I was going to go run a few errands. I haven’t told anybody about this yet. I think I should keep it to myself and my blog for now. I decided to take a notepad with me and see if I can jot down how I feel while I’m at the site, and log anything unusual to type up.
It was around 11 AM when I arrived at the site. It had snowed yesterday, and melted some so the ground was a bit damp, except for the hole itself, no snow on it, not really wet either. Everything else looks the same, the hole looks like it shrank about 6 inches. I walked up and tugged on the string, it was still heavy. I pulled it up to take a look at it, it was still blinking, but much faster than before. That could be from any number of reasons, but at the rate it was blinking I’m surprised the battery didn’t drain out in the night.
The feeling I get when I’m close to the hole is something like.. something I need to do. I feel sort of blank, I can’t imagine anything when I look down into it, I can feel it more than I can see it. It’s not just a black void. The nothingness that makes up the hole itself feels emotionally overwhelming when I stare down.
I had only been there for about 45 minutes when a hum started to happen, a low bass drone sounding ring engulfed the atmosphere, it kept getting louder and louder, to the point where my eyes started to hurt and vibrate. it was too intense for me to stay there so I left quickly. My head was a wreck, the most intense headache I have ever had on the way home almost caused me to drive into oncoming traffic. When I made it back home I parked the car and just stayed there for 30 minutes, it was going away slowly, but not fast enough. I stumbled back inside the apartment and took 4 Aspirin and soaked my head in the sink full of water. An hour later it was much better than before. I’m really reluctant to go back, the pain I had between my ears was enough to make me forget I ever found it.

I thought I was done with it but I went back the next day, I couldn’t resist. I’ll type up what happened.
