I feel like it wont be too long now before we can all enjoy OLED technology. It seems at the moment they are still developing a way to preserve the organic phosphors for larger screen sizes, but Samsung appears to be at the forefront using the active matrix version of this technology. Here is a simple example of an OLED screen in a phone (not the best example for its life-like color gamut). The technology can also be used as flexible panel lighting for your home or office, as well as textiles. Speaking of homes, here is a nice one by Peripheriques.

Oh Christ… They have a music video for the technology, here.

There is this great movie on hulu called Ink . It’s not about tattoos, its about dreams and nightmares, good and evil, and a few other things. It started to storm a bit today, I always like it when the weather gets dramatic outside. I opened an Ally bank account. I’ve heard good things about them so I thought I should give it a shot, besides Chase was letting me down. Chase is like an old dog that bites, has the breath of a dead ox and breaks wind while he barks at shadows dancing on the ground, Ally is like young puppy that is kind to all of life’s creations, treats them with love and respect and cures lepros with his magical tongue of healing. They are an internet bank, but I believe they have branches in PA and a few other locations, you can get a debit card and a checkbook.

Zinc: Among its many functions, zinc helps maintain a healthy immune system, is needed for wound healing, helps maintain your sense of taste and smell, and is needed for DNA synthesis. Zinc also supports normal growth and development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence, and helps sperm develop and is needed for ovulation and fertilization.

So it turns out <strike>the hole was just made from a giant gopher. It was logged in the Guinness Book of Records and then BBQ’ed in a Southern French town with some capers and ale. Everyone danced around the rotisserie gopher until a lumbering man came sprinting out of the woods and lopped all of their heads off with a novelty-sized samurai sword and began to pick the brains out with a spork he made out of bamboo. The clouds began to darken above as the leaves on the trees turned into flames and and it started to rain burnt chili peppers. The end.</strike> I will write more of what happened at a later date.

We stopped for gas half way into our trip at some small junction town along Sunrise Highway. I got out to stretch and looked around. The sun was gleaming off of the the hood ornament, a couple of sparrows were fighting around the roof overhang at the convent store. Looking out into the highway as cars passed, I started to think about this adventure we were undertaking…People don’t just find something like this and act like they are going to see a road side attraction. Its all going too well, was I being paranoid? I don’t know. I just knew from this point forward, I had to have some reservations about my trust for him. He came back from the restroom; “Ready?” he said. “Yep, lets go.” As soon as I closed the door a blue van pulled out from the side of the dumpster in front of us. I immediately though it was keeping tabs on us. I didn’t say anything to Alden, it was just a crazy gut feeling.

An hour and a half later we had arrived at Camp Hero Park. Close by was the Air force Base, we parked at the park and started our hike around the side of the Base. We walked down this old road that had been restricted to public traffic and up to this bunker that nature was starting to reclaim. (Here are some photos of the building. ) He walked around to the far left side of the bunker where there was a small rusted hatch. He looked at it trying to figure out a way to get in. “You wouldn’t happen to have a crowbar on you would you? Said Alden in a carefree manner. ” No, but will this work?” I said as I pulled a rock hammer from my pack. I gave the lock a few hard whacks of the hammer until I punched a hole and was able to pry the lock from the door. He opened it and pulled on a manual release lever. “What was that?” I said, feeling even more paranoid about everything. “It’s a manual override for the door.” He showed me a big metal door with no handles on the side of the building. We pried it open and went inside. I pulled out my key chain light. “It looked like they had cut power to the bunker” he showed me cut cables. “Forget it, just follow me” We went into a larger room and there I saw it. About 30′ in diameter, it was a hole. This doesn’t, quite look like the same thing, like in the photos? “It’s not, well not anymore, but it use to be. “This base was initially built around this hole, nobody ever knew of its existence. It all started one day in 1941 when a land surveyor was surveying the land to erect the fort…

I realized at this point it was time to share this with somebody who might know what this is. I wasn’t sure where to start with my search, do I need to contact a geologist, quantum physicist or a shaman>?- I thought to myself . I started with local college departments for a geologist, I came across Dr. Alden Foster from the local Community College. I sent him an email explaining briefly what I had found and how I’m ready for help with my findings. He immediately wrote back saying to meet him at a public library. I grabbed my bag and headed out over to my local public library. I sat down in a quiet room #2. 5 minutes later he showed up. I closed the door. He sat down and started pulling books out of his bag. “Nice to meet you Jared; It’s funny you should email me about this hole you found. I had been studying it for the past 8 years, off and on. Recently I thought all of them were gone, here take a look at these…” He gave me what looked like a scrap book filled with Polaroids and notes next to them with equations that looked like it was explaining how it worked. ” So…(looking at the material)…does this explain everything? I said. No, not everything, this is only the start. The physics behind the phenomenon have always been unexplained. We know how they work in theory, but it doesn’t add up to anything we can reproduce, or make complete sense of. He pulled out a black folder that said “CAMP HERO” on the cover. “This is what was left of it” There was a black and white photocopy of a photo that was difficult to make out, there were about 5 people standing around a pit, one looked like a General. the others like scientists and lab techs. “Left of what?”. I can show you, can you take the rest of the day off? “Sure, where are we going? To Northampton. He said with a nostalgic grin. I’ll drive, he said. We got in his car and proceeded to make our journey out to the far east end of long island. Along the way I explained in detail what the hole made me feel, the incident with the animal. He looked over at me like he had heard this story before. What is it, I said. Nothing really it’s just good to be going back…
